Yes, we are a legal, licensed and insured interstate hauling operation that is regulated by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration and the U.S. Department of Transportation. All legal transportation businesses need to have a USDOT number. Ridgeview Equine LLC: USDOT 4517330
Yes, because we are a legal and licensed interstate hauling operation that is regulated by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration and the U.S. Department of Transportation we are required to have liability insurance. BUT, we do not provide insurance for your horse. If you would like to insure your horse, you will need to contact your insurance agent, or we can put you in contact with our agent, prior to shipment in order to get a personal policy in place.
We are an insured and legal transportation company, but we do not insure your horse. That can be a little confusing for people, so please allow us to explain further:
~A transportation company must carry liability insurance for their vehicles and cargo. If there were to be an incident, liability insurance may cover (depending upon who's fault the incident's was) the damages done to person or property. However, that may not always cover damages to the horse.
~Personal horse transport insurance, that you may purchase and provide personally, have policies covering equine mortality, major medical expenses, and liability for injuries or damages during transport. You can choose different levels of coverage and different coverage terms. We suggest contacting your personal agent/broker or we can recommend an equine specialized insurance agent to you.
Scheduled transportation must be cancelled 48 hours prior to pick up. If there are any issues or concerns please reach out to us as soon as possible so that we may discuss re-scheduling options. If cancellations are not made within the 48 hour pick up window the client shall be responsible for the full shipping charge.
For our private charter clients, any change of dates or cancellation must be made 7 days prior to the scheduled shipment.
